As genealogists who handle data and who are data processors we have a duty of care to handle user and your data transparently and responsibly.

Extended family can be qualified as thus:

• children and their spouses,
• grandchildren, 
• siblings and their spouses,
• nieces/nephews and their spouses,
• aunts, uncles, cousins, and their spouses etc.

 

All individuals under 16 must have signed consent of parent/guardian.

Gift recipients are exempt from consent (see Legitimate Interest below).

We may also collect and include on behalf of the gift recipient, photos of living individuals, details of their hobbies, employment, and affiliations.

We use Google Analytics to monitor the users who visit our website to improve our services. To do this Google Analytics records the actions of users on our website. We use software to anonymise your IP address and use alphanumeric database IDs when you make an order or click on an area of the website. This means your actions cannot be identified as belonging to you.

Conte Heraldry Scrolls and Nia’s Crafts & Designs uses information in order to provide specific services and offer updates and support to You/the User. If you order or are given our services as a gift or if you are a member of the gift recipient’s extended family your name, date and place of birth, your marriage date and place of marriage are used to research a family tree, print a family tree, and store a family tree digitally. We do not consider information about extended family (apart from living parents and grandparents) as legitimate interest and as a consequence extended family are required to give their express permission for Conte Heraldry Scrolls and Nia’s Crafts & Designs to use their information for your/the gift recipient’s family tree.

As part of our research service you or the gift recipient will receive research updates by third party email. Please note however that we do not provide an update service other than by third party email.

We may also use your information to answer queries and resolve issues regarding your account and payments.

 

Does Conte Heraldry Scrolls and Nia’s Crafts & Designs disclose User/Your information to third parties?
All personal information collected by Conte Heraldry Scrolls and Nia’s Crafts & Designs is treated as strictly confidential. We may disclose users’ personal information to third parties when this is required in order to provide the services you have ordered. For example: your ip address and email are captured by our Tawk.to chat service when you make an enquiry via the online chat facility; your Credit/Debit card information may be provided for payment confirmation and verification to our partners involved in processing your payment; though living people are kept private, the gift recipient’s name, date and place of birth, date and place of marriage, their extended family names and dates and places of birth are provided to Ancestry.co.uk as part of our update service. Ancestry.co.uk’s Privacy Policy has now been updated in line with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018. The details of dead people are not kept private. We employ security monitoring throughout our site including encryption software, firewalls, anti-hacking tools, password protected access to personal information, limited access to personal information, safe disposal of personal information, and encrypted transfer of sensitive data submitted by the user through Family History Gift’s shopping cart, contact forms, application forms etc. There may be security limitations, which are beyond Conte Heraldry Scrolls and Nia’s Crafts & Designs’s control. All online information created by us as part of the update service is destroyed at the completion of research.
